Pollokshields Church | Find a Christian Fellowship Near You

Glasgow Church of Christ is a non-denominational Jesus focussed Bible-believing fellowship. We share a dedication to living out our faith in the world by utilising executing the teachings of the Bible to practically express our love for God’s word, each other, and all those in our neighbourhood and beyond. As a group dedicated to sharing our faith within the community and reaching others for Christ, we consider ourselves to be a restoration movement.

With families, students, and singles from all walks of life, our church is exceptionally diverse but also very close-knit. In the UK, we are associated with the ICC Missions family of churches, and worldwide with the International Churches of Christ.

The legacy of St. Mungo in Glasgow has expanded and changed throughout time. The teaching of God’s word and the application of the Scriptures to our lives, we believe can still be utilised to guarantee that Pollokshields continues to flourish. Our goal has always been to spread God’s love to others, and by showing our faith through deeds and actions, we aim to help others to find the purpose and dream that God has for them.

As a congregation, we believe in God’s forgiveness and in His ability to alter all aspects of our everyday lives, relationships, and family life.

Learn How to Study The Bible In Pollokshields

It may feel frightening to study the Bible alone, especially if you are new to it. But just like any other relationship, committed participation and effort are needed to be able to really comprehend the Scriptures. In order to help you explore the Bible we have developed a series of topical Bible-studies that covers topics like:

Faith – What is faith, how is it defined in the Bible, how does it operate in my life, how does it impact my options and how does it connect me to God?

Seeking God – How do I pursue a relationship with him, why should I, and what does that even imply?

The Word of God – How the Scriptures are the divine authority of God and how we can practically apply them in our lives today, hence bringing stability, focus and purpose into our lives with a hope that reaches eternity.

Jesus – His identity, His character, His love, His conviction, His mission and His sacrifice. How he lived, his focus, his vision, his heart, how he got rid of temptations, hurt, ridicule, betrayal, worry, anguish. How he supplies the hope all of us need so desperately.

Discipleship – How our mission is to satisfy Jesus’ objective for us by assisting others in growing, preparing them to follow him, and training them to do the exact same.

Sin/conviction – Understanding and accepting the reality of our problems that separate us from God, how it hurts us and our hopes, dreams and relationships.

The Cross – Understanding how Jesus’ sacrifice– the supreme act of grace and love– his death, burial, and resurrection solve the issue of our sin that keeps us from God.

Repentance – Helping us to heal from our sin and becoming more of who we are implied to be by realising the power the Gospel has and the power we need to transform our frame of mind.

Baptism – How we receive the Holy Spirit as a gift, which empowers us to live a renewed life as we are forgiven of our sins and free from what entangles us from living a life to the full.

The Holy Spirit – How we let the Holy Spirit operates in our lives by imitating the love, service, and sacrifice Jesus gave, and how the Holy Spirit works in a Christian’s life.

The Church – Realising your function in God’s plan and the actual meaning of “church” as a family of followers committed to loving, serving, forgiving, motivating, laying down our lives, and sharing our hearts and personal belongings with one another, instead of a building.

Pollokshields Family Friendly Church for All Ages

No matter your age, social status, education, cultural background and heritage, we believe that Christianity is for everyone. We are a varied church with members ranging in age from 14 to devoted baptised disciples over the age of 80. We live and learn from one another because we regard church to be like family, both in committing to and complying with the Scriptures and in following Jesus, learning each day to end up being more like him in his ideas, deeds, choices, love, and grace. Despite age, we believe we are to serve one another as Jesus served others and minister to each other through discipling relationships. We see from Scriptures that Christianity very much is a “one-another” religion, sharing a common faith and common love for God and each other.
