Glasgow Church of Christ is a non-denominational, Jesus focussed fellowship that upholds the teachings of the Bible. We express our love for God, His word, each other, and all those in our community and beyond through our practical dedication to the teachings of the Bible, which we use to live out our faith on earth.

As a church we are very diverse yet close-knit, with families, students and singles from all walks of life and we affiliate with ICC Missions family of churches in the UK and worldwide we affiliate with the International Churches of Christ.

St Mungo has had an impact on Glasgow that has lasted even as Glasgow has grown and progressed, and we still think as a church that Clarkston can not only thrive through the preaching of God’s word but in applying the Scriptures to our lives and sharing this with the broader world around us. By showing our faith to others through our deeds and actions, we aim to assist others to discover the plan that God has for them, and share his love with as many people as possible.

As a congregation we believe in embracing the forgiveness of God and in His power to alter us in our every day life, in our relationships and in our family.

It might be daunting to study the Bible by yourself, particularly if you are new to it. But much like any other relationship, establishing a true understanding of the Scriptures requires time, effort, and genuine interaction. In order to help you explore the Bible we have produced a series of topical Bible-studies that covers subjects like:

Faith – What is faith, how is it explained in the Bible, how does it work in my life, how does it affect my choices, and how does it connect to God?

Seeking God – Why should I pursue a relationship with God, what does that appear like, and what does it imply?

The Word of God – How the Scriptures are the divine authority of God and how we can practically apply them in our lives today, hence bringing integrity, focus and purpose into our lives with a hope that reaches eternity.

Jesus – His identity, His character, His love, His conviction, His mission and His sacrifice. How he lived, his focus, his vision, his heart, how he got rid of temptations, hurt, ridicule, betrayal, fear, distress. How he is the hope all of us so desperately require.

Discipleship – How, in addition to being called to baptise, we are also to help others in growing, preparing them to follow Jesus and understanding the objective He has for us.

Sin/conviction – Understanding and accepting the reality of our problems that separate us from God, how it harms us and our hopes, dreams and relationships.

The Cross – Understanding Jesus’ sacrifice, the supreme act of grace and love, his death, burial and resurrection and how it resolves our problem with our sin that separates us from him.

Repentance – Helping us to heal from our sin and becoming more of who we are indicated to be by understanding the power the Gospel has and the power we need to transform our mindset.

Baptism – How we receive the Holy Spirit as a gift, which empowers us to live a renewed life as we are forgiven of our sins and free from what entangles us from living a life to the full.

The Holy Spirit – How the Holy Spirit operates in the life of a Christian, and how we continue to let him operate in our lives as we mimic Jesus in his love, service and sacrifice.

The Church – Understanding your place in God’s plan and the actual significance of “church,” not as a building or cathedral, but as a family of followers committed to loving, serving, forgiving, encouraging, laying down our lives, and sharing our hearts and assets with one another.
