Kirkintilloch Church | Find a Christian Fellowship Near You

Glasgow Church of Christ is a non-denominational, Jesus focussed fellowship that maintains the teachings of the Bible. We share a dedication to living out our faith in the world by utilising executing the teachings of the Bible to practically express our love for God’s word, each other, and all those in our neighbourhood and beyond. We see ourselves as a restoration movement, devoted to spreading the word of Christ within the community, and sharing our faith with others.

As a church we are very diverse yet close-knit, with families, students and singles from all walks of life and we affiliate with ICC Missions family of churches in the UK and worldwide we affiliate with the International Churches of Christ.

St Mungo has had an effect on Glasgow that has endured even as Glasgow has grown and progressed, and we still think as a church that Kirkintilloch can not just flourish through the preaching of God’s word but in applying the Scriptures to our lives and sharing this with the wider world around us. We believe our faith is displayed in our deeds and actions and our objective is to share the love of God to others and to help others understand the purpose and dream God has for them.

As a congregation, we believe in God’s forgiveness and in His ability to change all elements of our daily lives, relationships, and family life.

Learn How to Study The Bible In Kirkintilloch

It might be frightening to study the Bible by yourself, especially if you are new to it. But just like any other relationship, developing a real understanding of the Scriptures requires time, effort, and genuine interaction. In order to help you check out the Bible we have produced a series of topical Bible-studies that covers subjects like:

Faith – How is faith defined in the Bible, how does it function in my life, how does it influence my choices, and how does it relate to my relationship with God?

Seeking God – Why should I pursue a relationship with God, what does that appear like, and what does it mean?

The Word of God – How the Bible is the divine authority of God and how we may utilise it in our lives to bring stability, concentration, and purpose into our lives with an eternal hope.

Jesus – His identity, His character, His love, His conviction, His mission and His sacrifice. How he lived, his focus, his vision, his heart, how he overcame temptations, hurt, ridicule, betrayal, worry, distress. How he is the hope we all so frantically need.

Discipleship – How, in addition to being called to baptise, we are also to help others in growing, preparing them to follow Jesus and understanding the objective He has for us.

Sin/conviction – Acknowledging and embracing the fact of the issues we face that keep us from God, how they impact our objectives, dreams, and relationships.

The Cross – Having a clear understanding of Jesus’ sacrifice, the height of grace and love, his death, burial, and resurrection, and how it addresses the issue of our sin that keeps us from God.

Repentance – Realising the power of the Gospel and its power to transform our frame of mind and thereby transform and alter us, assisting us to heal from our sin at the same time, ending up being more of whom we were indicated to be in the first place.

Baptism – How we receive the Holy Spirit as a gift, which provides us the capability to live a renewed life while being absolved of our sins and liberated from anything prevents us from living a life to the full.

The Holy Spirit – How we let the Holy Spirit operates in our lives by mimicking the love, service, and sacrifice Jesus provided, and how the Holy Spirit works in a Christian’s life.

The Church – Realising your purpose in God’s plan and the true meaning of “church”, not as a building or cathedral, but as a family of believers, dedicated to love, serve, forgive, motivate, lay down our lives and share our hearts and belongings with one another.

No matter your age, social status, education, cultural background and heritage, we believe that Christianity is for everyone. We are a diverse church with members ranging in age from 14 to devoted baptised disciples over the age of 80. As we think about church to be like family we live and learn from each other, both in devoting to and complying with the Scriptures and through following Jesus learning each day to become more like him in his ideas, actions, options, love and grace. Despite age, we believe we are to serve one another as Jesus served others and minister to each other through discipling relationships. We see from Scriptures that Christianity very much is a “one-another” religion, sharing a common faith and common love for God and each other.
