Langside Church | Find a Christian Fellowship Near You

Glasgow Church of Christ is a non-denominational, Jesus focussed fellowship that supports the teachings of the Bible. We express our love for God, His word, each other, and all those in our neighbourhood and beyond through our practical commitment to the teachings of the Bible, which we utilise to live out our faith on earth. We see ourselves as a restoration movement, devoted to spreading the word of Christ within the community, and sharing our faith with others.

Our church is extremely diverse, including those from all walks of life consisting of families, students, singles, and a lot more. We affiliate with ICC Missions family of churches in the UK and the International Churches of Christ worldwide.

St Mungo has had an impact on Glasgow that has endured even as Glasgow has grown and progressed, and we still think as a church that Langside can not just grow through the preaching of God’s word but in applying the Scriptures to our lives and sharing this with the larger world around us. Our objective has always been to spread God’s love to others, and by showing our faith through deeds and actions, we aim to assist others to find the purpose and dream that God has for them.

As a congregation, we trust in God’s capability to transform us in work, relationships, and our family lives by embracing our determination to accept His forgiveness.

Langside Bible Study Groups

Have you ever studied the Scriptures in search of God’s plan and felt too overwhelmed to comprehend? Do you wish to find out if God genuinely has a plan for you, and the world in general, and what that plan might be? The Bible is not only a practical guide to living life as God planned, but a love letter, exposing his heart to us, his dreams and desires for us as people. It has plenty of people going through life struggles and difficulties just like us, but revealing us how to go through life with Him.

To learn more about how to engage with Bible studies and get a better understanding of what it means, we welcome you to contact us, or attend one of our Sunday services. Our Bible studies are built on the inquiries and requirements of those participating in, covering a range of topical subjects. We also have Bible-discussion groups and life talks at our family church groups, based upon events and common topics from across the globe. Our Bible-discussions occur in private homes or coffee shops in city centre and on university campus.

Learn How to Study The Bible In Langside

Studying the Bible on your own, specifically if you are new to it, can appear frustrating. However, learning to really understand the Scriptures is like with any other relationship; it requires time and effort and genuine engagement. In order to help you explore the Bible we have developed a series of topical Bible-studies that covers subjects like:

Faith – What is faith, how is it defined in the Bible, how does it operate in my life, how does it affect my options and how does it connect me to God?

Seeking God – Why should I pursue a relationship with God, what does that look like, and what does it indicate?

The Word of God – How the Scriptures are the divine authority of God and how we can practically apply them in our lives today, thus bringing stability, focus and purpose into our lives with a hope that reaches eternity.

Jesus – His identity, His character, His love, His conviction, His mission and His sacrifice. How he lived, his focus, his vision, his heart, how he got rid of temptations, hurt, ridicule, betrayal, fear, anguish. How he is the hope we all so desperately need.

Discipleship – How we are not just called to baptise but also to help individuals grow, training and gearing up others in following Jesus, and satisfying the dream Jesus has for us.

Sin/conviction – Understanding and accepting the reality of our issues that separate us from God, how it harms us and our hopes, dreams and relationships.

The Cross – Understanding Jesus’ sacrifice, the supreme act of grace and love, his death, burial and resurrection and how it solves our issue with our sin that separates us from him.

Repentance – Understanding the power of the Gospel and its power to transform our state of mind and thereby transform and alter us, assisting us to heal from our sin at the same time, ending up being more of whom we were meant to be in the first place.

Baptism – How we receive the Holy Spirit as a gift, which offers us the ability to live a renewed life while being absolved of our sins and freed from anything impedes us from living a life to the full.

The Holy Spirit – How we let the Holy Spirit operates in our lives by mimicking the love, service, and sacrifice Jesus gave, and how the Holy Spirit works in a Christian’s life.

The Church – Realising your purpose in God’s plan and the true significance of “church”, not as a building or cathedral, but as a family of believers, dedicated to love, serve, forgive, encourage, lay down our lives and share our hearts and possessions with one another.

Langside Family Friendly Church for All Ages

As Christians we believe Christianity is for everybody regardless of age, social status, education, cultural background and heritage. We are a diverse church with members ranging from 14 years old as dedicated baptised disciples to 80 years and over. As we regard church to be like family, we live and gain from one another, both in dedicating to and obeying the Scriptures and in following Jesus, learning every day to become more like him in his concepts, actions, choices, love, and grace. Regardless of age, we believe we are to serve one another as Jesus served others and minister to each other through discipling relationships. We see from Scriptures that Christianity very much is a “one-another” religion, sharing a common faith and common love for God and each other.

Glasgow Church Family and Ministries

Our Langside based church offers a variety of ministries to meet the needs of every member of our congregation, consisting of marital relationship ministry, student ministry, kids’s ministry, women’s and men’s ministry, teen ministry, and singles ministry. We have events focused on those particular ministries, such as marital relationship retreats/events, teen camps, kids’s ministry teaching and training, singles events and events focused on satisfying the requirements of the students. At one point or another you will find yourself being in a minimum of one of these ministries, and through a life time most of them, so we draw lessons from one another and from those who have walked prior to us. Our numerous ministries are also focused on reaching out to the community as we want to bring intend to others and sharing the amazing recovery there is to be found when you truly follow the Bible.
