Milngavie Church | Find a Christian Fellowship Near You

Glasgow Church of Christ is a non-denominational Jesus focussed Bible-believing fellowship. We are dedicated to the teachings of the Bible and to live out our faith on this earth expressed practically through our love for God, his Word, each other and individuals in our neighbourhood and beyond. As a group dedicated to sharing our faith within the neighbourhood and reaching others for Christ, we consider ourselves to be a restoration movement.

With families, students, and singles from all walks of life, our church is extremely varied but also very close-knit. In the UK, we are associated with the ICC Missions family of churches, and globally with the International Churches of Christ.

St Mungo has had an influence on Glasgow that has lasted even as Glasgow has grown and evolved, and we still think as a church that Milngavie can not only grow through the preaching of God’s word but in applying the Scriptures to our lives and sharing this with the wider world around us. We believe our faith is displayed in our deeds and actions and our goal is to share the love of God to others and to help others realise the purpose and dream God has for them.

As a congregation we believe in welcoming the forgiveness of God and in His power to alter us in our life, in our relationships and in our family.

Milngavie Bible Study Groups

Have you ever studied the Scriptures in search of God’s plan for salvation? Have you ever felt it too frustrating to understand? Do you want to know if He truly has a plan for you, and if so, what it might be? Do you like to know what vision God has for you and for the world in general? The Bible is not just a practical guide to living life as God meant, but a love letter, exposing his heart to us, his dreams and desires for us as people. It provides us a guide to living life through Him, revealing us the experiences of people going through many of the very same struggling and challenges that we do.

We invite you to contact us, or participate in a Sunday service, for more information about the Bible and how to engage in Bible studies. Our Bible studies cover a wide range of topical topics, with materials based on the questions and needs you have. We also have Bible-discussion groups and life talks at our family church groups, based upon events and common subjects from across the globe. These meetings are held in a range of different places, from private homes and cafes, to university campuses.

Learn How to Study The Bible In Milngavie

Studying the Bible on your own, specifically if you are new to it, can appear overwhelming. However, learning to actually understand the Scriptures is like with any other relationship; it requires time and effort and real engagement. In order to help you check out the Bible we have produced a series of topical Bible-studies that covers subjects like:

Faith – How is faith defined in the Bible, how does it function in my life, how does it influence my decisions, and how does it connect to my relationship with God?

Seeking God – How do I pursue a relationship with him, why should I, and what does that even suggest?

The Word of God – How the Scriptures are the divine authority of God and how we can practically apply them in our lives today, therefore bringing integrity, focus and purpose into our lives with a hope that reaches eternity.

Jesus – His identity, His character, His love, His conviction, His mission and His sacrifice. How he lived, his focus, his vision, his heart, how he overcame temptations, hurt, ridicule, betrayal, fear, anguish. How he is the hope we all so desperately require.

Discipleship – How we are not just called to baptise but also to help individuals grow, training and equipping others in following Jesus, and satisfying the dream Jesus has for us.

Sin/conviction – Comprehending and embracing the reality of our troubles that keep us from God, as well as how it impacts our goals, dreams, and relationships.

The Cross – Knowing how Jesus’ sacrifice– the ultimate act of grace and love– his death, burial, and resurrection resolve the concern of our sin that keeps us from God.

Repentance – Helping us to heal from our sin and ending up being more of who we are implied to be by realising the power the Gospel has and the power we need to transform our frame of mind.

Baptism – How we receive the Holy Spirit as a gift, which empowers us to live a renewed life as we are forgiven of our sins and free from what entangles us from living a life to the full.

The Holy Spirit – How we let the Holy Spirit operates in our lives by imitating the love, service, and sacrifice Jesus provided, and how the Holy Spirit works in a Christian’s life.

The Church – Understanding your role in God’s plan and the actual meaning of “church” as a family of believers devoted to loving, serving, forgiving, motivating, laying down our lives, and sharing our hearts and belongings with one another, instead of a building.

Milngavie Family Friendly Church for All Ages

As we regard church to be like family, we live and gain from one another, both in devoting to and following the Scriptures and in following Jesus, learning every day to end up being more like him in his ideas, actions, choices, love, and grace. Despite age, we believe we are to serve one another as Jesus served others and minister to each other through discipling relationships. We see from Scriptures that Christianity very much is a “one-another” religion, sharing a common faith and common love for God and each other.
