Mearns Church | Find a Christian Fellowship Near You

Glasgow Church of Christ is a non-denominational Jesus focussed Bible-believing fellowship. We share a dedication to living out our faith in the world by using carrying out the teachings of the Bible to practically express our love for God’s word, each other, and all those in our community and beyond. As a group devoted to sharing our faith within the community and reaching others for Christ, we consider ourselves to be a restoration movement.

As a church we are very diverse yet close-knit, with families, students and singles from all walks of life and we affiliate with ICC Missions family of churches in the UK and worldwide we affiliate with the International Churches of Christ.

The legacy of St. Mungo in Glasgow has broadened and altered throughout time. The teaching of God’s word and the application of the Scriptures to our daily lives, we believe can still be used to make sure that Mearns continues to succeed. Our objective has always been to spread God’s love to others, and by showing our faith through deeds and actions, we aim to assist others to discover the purpose and dream that God has for them.

As a congregation, we believe in God’s forgiveness and in His ability to alter all aspects of our daily lives, relationships, and family life.

Learn How to Study The Bible In Mearns

It might be frightening to study the Bible by yourself, particularly if you are new to it. But just like any other relationship, establishing a true understanding of the Scriptures requires time, effort, and genuine interaction. In order to help you check out the Bible we have created a series of topical Bible-studies that covers topics like:

Faith – How is faith defined in the Bible, how does it operate in my life, how does it influence my choices, and how does it connect to my relationship with God?

Seeking God – How do I pursue a relationship with him, why should I, and what does that even indicate?

The Word of God – How the Bible is the divine authority of God and how can we utilize it in our lives? This will help us live lives of integrity, purpose, and hope for the future.

Jesus – His identity, His character, His love, His conviction, His mission and His sacrifice. How he lived, his focus, his vision, his heart, how he got rid of temptations, hurt, ridicule, betrayal, worry, suffering. How he is the hope we all so frantically require.

Discipleship – How our mission is to satisfy Jesus’ objective for us by assisting others in growing, preparing them to follow him, and training them to do the exact same.

Sin/conviction – Recognising and welcoming the fact of the problems we face that keep us from God, how they impact our goals, dreams, and relationships.

The Cross – Understanding how Jesus’ sacrifice– the ultimate act of grace and love– his death, burial, and resurrection solve the problem of our sin that keeps us from God.

Repentance – By making us knowledgeable about the power the Gospel has and the power we have to change our mentality, the Gospel assists us in overcoming our sin and ending up being more of who we are intended to be.

Baptism – How we receive the Holy Spirit as a gift, which empowers us to live a renewed life as we are forgiven of our sins and devoid of what entangles us from living a life to the full.

The Holy Spirit – How we let the Holy Spirit works in our lives by mimicking the love, service, and sacrifice Jesus offered, and how the Holy Spirit operates in a Christian’s life.

The Church – Understanding your purpose in God’s plan and the true significance of “church”, not as a building or cathedral, but as a family of believers, committed to love, serve, forgive, motivate, lay down our lives and share our hearts and belongings with one another.

Mearns Family Friendly Church for All Ages

As Christians we believe Christianity is for everybody despite age, social status, education, cultural background and heritage. We are a diverse church with members varying from 14 years old as dedicated baptised disciples to 80 years and over. We live and learn from one another since we regard church to be like family, both in dedicating to and complying with the Scriptures and in following Jesus, learning every day to become more like him in his concepts, deeds, options, love, and grace. Regardless of age, we believe we are to serve one another as Jesus served others and minister to each other through discipling relationships. We see from Scriptures that Christianity very much is a “one-another” religion, sharing a common faith and common love for God and each other.
