Glasgow Church of Christ is built on the belief that we are all called to spread the good news as widely as possible. This is our mission, our calling, and the purpose and strategy that God has for our lives.. As all of us originate from very different backgrounds and have been influenced in various ways, all of us need to study the Bible for ourselves and make up our own mind regarding the calling from God’s word; the calling to salvation and improvement through his word and holy spirit.
Our study series has been developed for those in Yoker seeking answers in the Bible, helping guide you to discover what you are searching for. These studies are not exhaustive, but a guide, and we will consider the needs of whomever we are trying to help in Yoker depending on spiritual and personal background. We do not believe “one size fits all”, but we do believe there is worth in understanding the essential meaning of what it means to be a real disciple and follower of Jesus, and how we can apply that to our lives. With a concentrate on what pleases God rather than self, studying the Bible will change the way you see both your own life and the lives of others.
If you do not have a Bible we recommend you to get one! There are a big variety on the market; a study bible provides you abundant commentary, with insights from Bible scholars, that can help you deepen your understanding of the Word and how to apply it. As an alternative, you could make use of a bible online or download a bible app, both of which provide bible study materials and a range of different subjects.

Learn How to Read & Study The Bible in Yoker
We believe that the Bible should be the ultimate authority in our lives. After all, it is the Word of God composed for us. God desires all of us to be saved and has called us through his Gospel and convicts us through his Spirit of our sin, righteousness and judgement. An individual’s life is affected by many variables, but we believe the ultimate flexibility is discovered in the eternal word of God.
We encourage you to reach our to us if you have struggled to get into the Scriptures and the Bible as a whole in the past. Seeking the truth of the Bible can be a lot less intimidating when you are doing so with others at the exact same phase of the journey or have been on a comparable journey in the past. You might even feel you do not have any faith at all, but the Bible will teach you even that. So start digging by studying the Bible with us.
Document any questions you have so that we may talk about them and search for answers in scriptural scriptures. We may not have all the answers, but we can show you where to start trying to find them in the Bible! We can offer guidance on how to study effectively, which scriptural books to start with, how to check out and comprehend a particular passage of scripture, along with ideas for topical, character, and book studies. Tools are even readily available to help the layperson to understand the original Greek.

Participate In A Bible Discussion Group in the Yoker Area
We regularly get together in smaller sized groups for mutual support, inspiration, direction, training, and assistance. We also hold Bible conversations or life conversations in these groups, which are modelled after the discussion groups Paul developed in Ephesus (Acts 19:9 -10). These talks are engaging and a terrific place for talking about God’s Word and how each attendee can apply it in their individual lives.
The conversations help us grow closer to God as we share insights from scripture and our own personal relationship with God. The discussion topics are quite varied and as they are broad discussions about life, they may consist of things like communication, dispute resolution, what makes you happy, hope, customs, and so on. As we have a number of groups in Yoker, do get in contact to find your local discussion group.
Find out about The Life Of Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He lived among us as a man, prior to being killed unjustly. Our mission is to help you construct your own conviction and respect for the life of Jesus and obtain insight into his sovereignty and importance. To help you get a firm grasp of who Jesus was and how he lived, we have produced a bible study exclusively on Jesus.
We hold that Jesus came to reveal the Father, and John 1:14 and John 1:17, which characterise him as “full of grace and truth” and that he “brought grace and truth,” are possibly the best summaries of his heart, life, and mission. This is the essence of who he was and what he did.

Learn How To Become A Christian In Yoker
Being a Christian today can seem a bit complicated; even more complicated is learning how to become one. Many churches will welcome you without teaching you what discipleship genuinely entails or what God’s expectations are. We think that being a Christian is the same as being a disciple, and that when disciples read the Bible, the Holy Spirit convicts us concerning righteousness (John 16:8). If Jesus came to save us from our sin, why wouldn’t we want to follow him and be his disciple? Being a disciple means doing so on His terms, nevertheless, and these terms are expressed most clearly in the Holy Bible.
Yoker Alpha Course Alternative
As disciples we are called to share the good news to others. After all, why wouldn’t you if you believe it is the truth! 1 Peter 3:15 informs us to always be prepared to offer an answer to anyone for the hope we have in Him. We have for that reason developed a Bible study series of topical studies provided to direct the student in their own discovery of the Word, which we call “Guard the Gospel. As you study God’s word and grow in your understanding of it, we hope that you will find these resources beneficial in your own spiritual journey.
The subjects we cover are:
Seeking God – Through prayer and bible verse study, develop an applicant’s heart to discover how to pursue a relationship with God.
Jesus – who is He, what life did He live, why did He come? How is it relevant to me today?
The Word of God – How the Bible should be our ultimate source of guidance and moral advice. The word study will help you in showing that the example in between the ancient and new testaments and the breath of God is precise.
Discipleship – The Bible specifies a Christian and shows that the only fitting reaction to Jesus’ dying on our behalf is to comply with God by following His Son. Anything less devalues the offering He made on our behalf.
Sin – Understanding how God sees us; separated from him because of our sin. Also understanding sin’s consequences. We will just receive grace if we truly perceive and repent of sin.
The Cross – The gift of grace and the cost of grace. Our role in Jesus’ death on the cross; and how the cross is what provides us hope once we understand our requirement for grace.
Repentance – What biblical repentance truly means as derived from Greek “metanoia”, implying change in mindset; how to embrace it and see it as one of the most positive words in the bible.
Baptism – How the connection in between Christ’s death and the redemption of our sins is established by baptism. Christ’s death on the cross leads to our forgiveness, but this takes place at the point of baptism. Participating in Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection via baptism.
The Church – God’s plan for his church, how we connect with one another as his new holy community. It has to do with becoming his family, being supported by a group of disciples who share our commitment to him, accepting duty for one another, and assisting one another in maintaining a close relationship with God because we are a spiritual, not a physical, temple for him.
The Holy Spirit – After our baptism, the Holy Spirit will continue to support us and help us adhere to our confession until the very end.
These are just some of the studies we can offer though the list is not exhaustive and we can offer in depth bible study on any particular topics you may wish to find answers to. You could want to discuss a certain word, some essential verses, or other parts of the Bible with us. Regardless, we want to meet you and share the good news and follow the example of Jesus in his love, life and service for others.
