Glasgow Church of Christ is built on the belief that we are all called to spread the good news as widely as possible. It is our mission, our purpose and calling, and God’s plan for all our lives.. We all have different backgrounds and experiences and need to study the Bible for ourselves to determine our interpretation of God’s word, the call to salvation and improvement via his word and the holy spirit.
We have developed a study series to help direct those of you in Bothwell who are looking for answers in the Bible. These studies are not exhaustive, but a guide, and we will consider the requirements of whomever we are attempting to help in Bothwell depending on religious and individual background. We do not believe “one size fits all”, but we do believe there is value in understanding the basic significance of what it means to be a true disciple and follower of Jesus, and how we can apply that to our lives. Studying the Bible will give you a different point of view on your own life and that of others, as it will be concentrated on what pleases God instead of self.
We urge you to purchase a Bible if you do not already have one! There are a great range on the market; a study bible provides you thorough commentary, with insights from Bible scholars that may help you tighten your grasp of the Word and how to apply it. Alternatively you can use a bible online or download a bible app, which also provides you bible study tools and different topical studies and resources.

Join A Bible Discussion Group in the Bothwell Area
We often gather in smaller sized groups to support, boost, inform, empower, and lead one another. We also hold Bible conversations or life discussions in these groups, which are modelled after the discussion groups Paul developed in Ephesus (Acts 19:9 -10). These talks are engaging and a terrific place for talking about God’s Word and how each attendee can apply it in their individual lives.
The conversations help us grow closer to God as we share insights from scripture and our own individual relationship with God. The conversation topics are rather diverse and as they are basic chats about life, one may talk about communication, conflict resolution, what brings you happiness, hope, traditions, and so on. As we have a number of groups in Bothwell, do get in contact to discover your local discussion group.
Find out about The Life Of Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He lived amongst us as a man, before being killed unjustly. We have created a bible study exclusively on Jesus to help you build your own conviction and regard for the life of Jesus and get insight into his sovereignty and significance. This study will help you understand who Jesus was and how he lived.
We believe that Jesus came to make the Father known and his heart, life and purpose are maybe best summed up from John 1:14 & John 1:17, which describe him as “full of grace and truth” and that he “brought grace and truth”. This is the essence of who he was and what he did.

Discover How To Become A Christian In Bothwell
The only thing that can appear more confusing than being a Christian in this day and age is how to turn into one. Many churches will welcome you without teaching you what discipleship truly entails or what God’s expectations are. We believe that being a Christian is the same as being a disciple as shown by the Scriptures, and as disciples study the Bible, the Holy Spirit convicts us worrying righteousness (John 16:8). As Jesus came to save us from our sin, it just makes sense to become his disciple and follow him. Being a disciple means doing so on His terms, nevertheless, and these terms are revealed most clearly in the Holy Bible.
Bothwell Alpha Course Alternative
As disciples, our mission is to spread out the good news. After all, why wouldn’t you if you know it to be the truth! According to 1 Peter 3:15, we should continuously be ready to solution to anyone for the hope that we have in Him. As a result, we have established “Guard the Gospel,” a Bible study series of topical studies supplied to help the learner in their own discovery of the Word. We hope you will find these helpful in your own faith journey as you study god’s word, and in your knowing process establish your own faith and convictions.
The topics we cover are:
Seeking God – Through prayer and bible verse study, establish an applicant’s heart to find out how to pursue a relationship with God.
Jesus – who is He, what life did He live, why did He come? How is it appropriate to me today?
The Word of God – How the Bible should be our ultimate source of assistance and moral advice. The word study will help you in showing that the example in between the ancient and new testaments and the breath of God is precise.
Discipleship – The Bible defines a Christian and demonstrates to that the only fitting reaction to Jesus’ dying on our behalf is to follow God by following His Son. Anything less cheapens the offering He made on our behalf.
Sin – Understanding how God sees us; separated from him because of our sin. Also understanding sin’s repercussions. We can just receive grace if we really view and repent of sin.
The Cross – The gift of grace and the price of grace. Our function in Jesus’ death on the cross; and how the cross is what provides us hope once we understand our need for grace.
Repentance – What scriptural repentance actually means as originated from Greek “metanoia”, implying modification in frame of mind; how to welcome it and see it as one of the most positive words in the bible.
Baptism – How baptism develops the link between Christ’s sacrifice and forgiveness of our sins. We are forgiven by the sacrifice of Christ, but this happens at the point of baptism. Baptism is the involvement in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.
The Church – God’s vision for his church, how we as followers of Christ connect to one another as his new holy community. It has to do with becoming his family, being supported by a group of disciples who share our devotion to him, accepting obligation for one another, and assisting one another in preserving a close relationship with God considering that we are a spiritual, not a physical, temple for him.
The Holy Spirit – After baptism, the Holy Spirit will sustain us and help us remain true to our confession to the end.
These are just a few of the studies we can offer though the list is not exhaustive and we can offer in depth bible study on any particular topics you might wish to discover answers to. You may wish to talk about a particular word, crucial verses, or other parts of the Bible with us. Regardless, we wish to meet you and share the good news and follow the example of Jesus in his love, life and service for others.
