Bible Discussion Moorpark

Glasgow Church of Christ believe we are called to share the good news with others. It is our mission, our purpose and calling, and God’s plan for all our lives.. We all have different backgrounds and experiences and need to study the Bible for ourselves to determine our analysis of God’s word, the call to salvation and change by means of his word and the holy spirit.

Our study series is developed precisely to do just that, guiding those seeking answers in the Bible. These studies are just a guide; we will take into consideration the requirements of those we are trying to help in Moorpark based on their spiritual and social backgrounds. Although we do not hold to the concept that “one size fits all,” we do think it is necessary to understand the essence of what it means to be a genuine disciple and follower of Jesus and how we may apply it to our lives in Moorpark. As it is centred on what pleases God instead of self, studying the Bible will offer you a different perspective on your own life and the lives of others.

We urge you to buy a Bible if you do not already have one! There are a great range on the market; a study bible offers you comprehensive commentary, with insights from Bible scholars that may help you tighten your grasp of the Word and how to apply it. As an alternative, you could use a bible online or download a bible app, both of which offer bible study materials and a range of different subjects.

We welcome you to contact us to learn more about the Bible, what we believe, and how we can help you have more in depth study on a subject in the bible.

We believe that the Bible should be the ultimate authority in our lives. After all, it is the Word of God written for us. Through his Gospel, God calls us and desires us all to be saved and through his Spirit, he convicts us of our sin, righteousness, and judgement. The ultimate flexibility in an individual’s life is discovered in the eternal word of God, no matter how many variables influence their life.

If you discover that you are struggling to engage with the Scriptures and Bible as a whole, we highly recommend you to get in touch with us. It can be useful to begin seeking the truth of the whole Bible by hanging around with others who have been on the exact same journey. You may even feel you do not have any faith at all, but the Bible will teach you even that. So start digging by studying the Bible with us.

Jot down any questions you have so that we may discuss them and search for answers in biblical scriptures. Join A Bible Discussion Group in the Moorpark Area

We typically gather in smaller groups to support, boost, inform, empower, and lead one another. In these groups, we also hold Bible or life conversations that are modelled after the discussion groups that Paul established in Ephesus (Acts 19:9 -10). These discussions are engaging and an outstanding setting for group argument of God’s Word and its practical application.

Throughout these conversations we grow near to God by sharing insights from Scripture and our own experiences. The discussion subjects are very diverse and as it is general talks about life a subject could be about communication, conflict resolution, what makes you happy, hope, traditions, etc. As we have numerous groups in Moorpark, do get in contact to discover your local discussion group.

Find out about The Life Of Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He lived amongst us as a man, prior to being killed unjustly. Our mission is to help you develop your own conviction and regard for the life of Jesus and obtain insight into his sovereignty and significance. To help you get a firm grasp of who Jesus was and how he lived, we have produced a bible study exclusively on Jesus.

John 1:14 and John 1:17, which characterise Jesus as “full of grace and truth” and that he “brought grace and truth,” are potentially the best summaries of his heart, life, and purpose. This is the essence of who he was and what he did.

Find Out How To Become A Christian In Moorpark

The only thing that can seem more confusing than being a Christian in this day and age is how to become one. There are many churches that will invite you in without teaching you what discipleship actually means and what God’s expectations are. We believe that being a Christian is the same as being a disciple as proved by the Scriptures, and as disciples study the Bible, the Holy Spirit convicts us concerning righteousness (John 16:8). If Jesus came to save us from our sin, why wouldn’t we want to follow him and be his disciple? Being a disciple means doing so on His terms, nevertheless, and these terms are revealed most plainly in the Holy Bible.

As disciples, our mission is to spread the good news. After all, why wouldn’t you if you know it to be the truth! According to 1 Peter 3:15, we should constantly be ready to solution to anyone for the hope that we have in Him. As a result, we have established “Guard the Gospel,” a Bible study series of topical studies supplied to help the student in their own discovery of the Word. We hope you will find these useful in your own faith journey as you study god’s word, and in your knowing process establish your own faith and convictions.

The subjects we cover are:

Seeking God – Discover how to pursue a relationship with God by developing an applicant’s heart, through prayer and bible verse study.

Jesus – who is He, what life did He live, why did He come? How is it pertinent to me today?

The Word of God – How the Bible is the ultimate authority and standard for our lives. The Word study will help you establish that both the old testament and the new testament is tantamount to the breath of God.

Discipleship – What a Christian is according to the Bible, and how following God by following His Son is the only appropriate response to Jesus’ dying on our behalf. Anything less lessens the cost He paid to save us.

Sin – Understanding how God sees us; separated from him because of our sin. Also understanding sin’s repercussions. Only if we really perceive and repent of sin, can we receive grace.

The Cross – The present of grace and the price of grace. Our role in Jesus’ death on the cross; and how the cross is what offers us hope once we understand our requirement for grace.

Repentance – What biblical repentance truly means as originated from Greek “metanoia”, implying change in frame of mind; how to accept it and see it as one of the most positive words in the bible.

Baptism – How baptism develops the link in between Christ’s sacrifice and forgiveness of our sins. We are forgiven by the sacrifice of Christ, but this happens at the point of baptism. Baptism is the involvement in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.

The Church – God’s plan for his church, how we engage with one another as his new holy community. It has to do with being his family, being participated in by a team of similar disciples in our dedication for him, taking duty for one another, helping each other stay near to God as we are a spiritual temple for God, not a physical one.

The Holy Spirit – After our baptism, the Holy Spirit will continue to support us and help us stay with our confession till the very end.

These are just a few of the studies we can provide; the list is by no means complete, and we can offer extensive bible study on any particular subjects you would have an interest in learning more about. You may wish to discuss a particular word, important verses, or other parts of the Bible with us. Regardless, we want to meet you and share the good news and follow the example of Jesus in his love, life and service for others.
