Bible Discussion Chryston

At Glasgow Church of Christ, we believe that we are all called to share the good news with others. It is our mission, our purpose and calling, and God’s plan for all our lives.. As we all originate from very different backgrounds and have been influenced in different ways, all of us need to study the Bible for ourselves and make up our own mind regarding the calling from God’s word; the calling to salvation and change through his word and holy spirit.

Our study series has been developed for those in Chryston seeking answers in the Bible, helping guide you to discover what you are searching for. We will take into account the requirements of everyone we are attempting to help based upon their spiritual and individual backgrounds; these studies are only a guide. Despite the fact that we do not believe in the idea that “one size fits all,” we do believe it is very important to understand the essence of what it means to be a genuine disciple and follower of Jesus and how we may use that understanding to better our lives. As it is centred on what pleases God rather than self, studying the Bible will offer you a different point of view on your own life and the lives of others.

We urge you to buy a Bible if you don’t already have one! There are a fantastic range on the market; a study bible provides you extensive commentary, with insights from Bible scholars that may help you tighten your grasp of the Word and how to apply it. Alternatively you can utilize a bible online or download a bible app, which also provides you bible study tools and various topical studies and resources.

We believe the Bible is the Word of God composed for us, and that it should be the ultimate authority in our lives and in our approach to God. God desires all of us to be saved and has called us through his Gospel and convicts us through his Spirit of our sin, righteousness and judgement. Join A Bible Discussion Group in the Chryston Area

We often get together in smaller sized groups to support, uplift, educate, empower, and lead one another. We also hold Bible conversations or life conversations in these groups, which are modelled after the discussion groups Paul developed in Ephesus (Acts 19:9 -10). These talks are engaging and a fantastic location for discussing God’s Word and how each participant can apply it in their personal lives.

During these conversations we grow near to God by sharing insights from Scripture and our own experiences. The conversation topics are rather varied and as they are broad discussions about life, they may consist of things like communication, dispute resolution, what makes you happy, hope, customs, and so on. As we have several groups in Chryston, do get in contact to find your local discussion group.

Discover The Life Of Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He lived amongst us as a man, before being killed unjustly. To acquire a strong understanding of who Jesus was and how he lived we have developed a bible study specifically about Jesus in order to help you develop your own conviction and appreciation for the life of Jesus and gain insight into his sovereignty and significance.

We believe that Jesus came to make the Father known and his heart, life and purpose are possibly best summed up from John 1:14 & John 1:17, which describe him as “full of grace and truth” and that he “brought grace and truth”. This is the essence of who he was and what he did.

Find Out How To Become A Christian In Chryston

Being a Christian in the modern can be confusing, and working out how to become one is even more so. Many churches will welcome you without teaching you what discipleship truly requires or what God’s expectations are. We believe that being a Christian is the same as being a disciple as proved by the Scriptures, and as disciples study the Bible, the Holy Spirit convicts us worrying righteousness (John 16:8). Why would we not follow Jesus and become his disciple, if he came to save us from our sin? This, nevertheless, can only be on His terms as set out in the Holy Bible.

Chryston Alpha Course Alternative

As disciples we are called to share the good news to others. After all, why wouldn’t you if you think it is the truth! According to 1 Peter 3:15, we should continuously be ready to response to anyone for the hope that we have in Him. As a result, we have established “Guard the Gospel,” a Bible study series of topical studies supplied to help the student in their own discovery of the Word. As you study God’s word and grow in your understanding of it, we hope that you will discover these resources beneficial in your own spiritual journey.

The topics we cover are:

Seeking God – Through prayer and bible verse study, develop a seeker’s heart to learn how to pursue a relationship with God.

Jesus – What type of life did He lead? Why was He here? How does it apply to me now?

The Word of God – How the Bible should be our ultimate source of guidance and moral advice. The word study will help you in showing that the example between the ancient and new testaments and the breath of God is accurate.

Discipleship – What a Christian is from the Bible, and how the only proper reaction to Jesus’ death on our behalf should be to comply with God through following His Son. Anything less cheapens the sacrifice He produced us.

Sin – Understanding how God sees us; separated from him because of our sin. Also understanding sin’s repercussions. We will just receive grace if we really view and repent of sin.

The Cross – The gift of grace and the price of grace. Our role in Jesus’ death on the cross; and how the cross is what provides us hope once we understand our requirement for grace.

Repentance – What scriptural repentance truly means as originated from Greek “metanoia”, implying change in mindset; how to embrace it and see it as one of the most positive words in the bible.

Baptism – How baptism establishes the link in between Christ’s sacrifice and forgiveness of our sins. We are forgiven by the sacrifice of Christ, but this occurs at the point of baptism. Baptism is the participation in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.

The Church – God’s plan for his church, how we connect with one another as his new holy neighborhood. Being his family is belonging of a group of disciples who share our commitment to him, accepting duty for one another, and supporting one another in keeping a strong relationship with God. We are a spiritual temple for God, not a physical one.

The Holy Spirit – After our baptism, the Holy Spirit will continue to support us and help us stay with our confession until the very end.

These are just some of the studies we can offer though the list is not exhaustive and we can offer in depth bible study on any specific topics you might want to discover answers to. You may want to talk about a particular word, crucial verses, or other parts of the Bible with us. Regardless, we want to meet you and share the good news and follow the example of Jesus in his love, life and service for others.
