Glasgow Church of Christ believe we are called to share the good news with others. It is the mission which we have been called to; and part of our purpose and God’s plan for our lives. We all have different backgrounds and experiences and need to study the Bible for ourselves to determine our analysis of God’s word, the call to salvation and change via his word and the holy spirit.
Our study series has been developed for those in Carmunnock seeking answers in the Bible, helping guide you to discover what you are trying to find. We shall consider the requirements of everyone we are trying to help based upon their religious and individual backgrounds; these studies are just a guide. Despite the fact that we do not believe in the concept that “one size fits all,” we do believe it is very important to understand the essence of what it means to be a real disciple and follower of Jesus and how we might utilize that understanding to better our lives. As it is centred on what pleases God rather than self, studying the Bible will offer you a different viewpoint on your own life and the lives of others.
If you do not have a Bible we urge you to get one! There are a substantial variety on the market; a study bible gives you rich commentary, with insights from Bible scholars, that can help you deepen your understanding of the Word and how to apply it. As an alternative, you could utilise a bible online or download a bible app, both of which supply bible study materials and a range of different subjects.

Learn How to Read & Study The Bible in Carmunnock
We believe the Bible is the Word of God composed for us, and that it should be the ultimate authority in our lives and in our approach to God. God wants all of us to be saved and has called us through his Gospel and convicts us through his Spirit of our sin, righteousness and judgement. An individual’s life is influenced by so many variables, but we believe the ultimate flexibility is discovered in the eternal word of God.
If you find that you are having a hard time to engage with the Scriptures and Bible as a whole, we highly encourage you to contact us. Seeking the truth of the Bible can be a lot less daunting when you are doing so with others at the exact same stage of the journey or have been on a similar journey in the past. If you feel as though you do not have any faith at all at the moment, that’s fine, the Bible can teach even that. Start examining the Bible and all it can do for you by studying with us.
Write down any questions you have so we may debate them and seek the truth in biblical verses. We may not have all the answers, but we can certainly demonstrate to you where to begin finding them in the bible! We can give you tips on how to study successfully, which bible books to start with, how to check out and understand a certain scripture, offer ideas for a book study, character study, topical studies and so on. Tools are even readily available to help the layperson to understand the initial Greek.

Join A Bible Discussion Group in the Carmunnock Area
We meet in smaller groups regularly, to urge, influence, train, equip and direct each other. We also hold Bible discussions or life discussions in these groups, which are modelled after the discussion groups Paul developed in Ephesus (Acts 19:9 -10). These talks are engaging and a terrific place for talking about God’s Word and how each guest can apply it in their individual lives.
The discussions help us grow closer to God as we share insights from scripture and our own personal relationship with God. The discussion topics are rather diverse and as they are general chats about life, one might talk about communication, dispute resolution, what brings you joy, hope, customs, and so on. As we have several groups in Carmunnock, do get in contact to find your regional discussion group.
Learn About The Life Of Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He lived among us as a man, prior to being killed unjustly. Our mission is to help you build your own conviction and regard for the life of Jesus and obtain insight into his sovereignty and relevance. To help you get a firm grasp of who Jesus was and how he lived, we have produced a bible study specifically on Jesus.
We believe that Jesus came to make the Father known and his heart, life and purpose are possibly best summarised from John 1:14 & John 1:17, which describe him as “full of grace and truth” and that he “brought grace and truth”. This is the essence of who he was and what he did.

Learn How To Become A Christian In Carmunnock
Being a Christian in the modern day can be complicated, and exercising how to turn into one is even more so. Many churches will extend an invite to you without describing what true discipleship involves or what God’s standards are. We believe that being a Christian is the same as being a disciple as proved by the Scriptures, and as disciples study the Bible, the Holy Spirit convicts us worrying righteousness (John 16:8). As Jesus came to save us from our sin, it just makes good sense to become his disciple and follow him. Being a disciple means doing so on His terms, however, and these terms are expressed most clearly in the Holy Bible.
Carmunnock Alpha Course Alternative
As disciples, our mission is to spread the good news. After all, why wouldn’t you if you know it to be the truth! According to 1 Peter 3:15, we should constantly be ready to response to anyone for the hope that we have in Him. As a result, we have established “Guard the Gospel,” a Bible study series of topical studies offered to help the student in their own discovery of the Word. We hope you find these resources helpful in your personal faith journey as you study God’s word and develop your own beliefs and convictions.
The subjects we cover are:
Seeking God – Find out how to pursue a relationship with God by developing an applicant’s heart, through prayer and bible verse study.
Jesus – who is He, what life did He live, why did He come? How is it pertinent to me today?
The Word of God – How the Bible is the ultimate authority and standard for our lives. The Word study will help you develop that both the old testament and the new testament is tantamount to the breath of God.
Discipleship – What a Christian is according to the Bible, and how following God by following His Son is the only suitable reaction to Jesus’ dying on our behalf. Anything less decreases the price He paid to save us.
Sin – Understanding how God sees us; separated from him because of our sin. Also understanding sin’s consequences. We will only get grace if we genuinely perceive and repent of sin.
The Cross – The present of grace and the rate of grace. Our role in Jesus’ death on the cross; and how the cross is what gives us hope once we understand our need for grace.
Repentance – What biblical repentance actually means as originated from Greek “metanoia”, indicating modification in state of mind; how to welcome it and see it as one of the most positive words in the bible.
Baptism – How baptism establishes the link between Christ’s sacrifice and forgiveness of our sins. We are forgiven by the sacrifice of Christ, but this takes place at the point of baptism. Baptism is the participation in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.
The Church – God’s vision for his church, how we as followers of Christ associate with one another as his new holy neighborhood. Being his family is belonging of a group of disciples who share our dedication to him, accepting obligation for one another, and supporting one another in preserving a strong relationship with God. We are a spiritual temple for God, not a physical one.
The Holy Spirit – After baptism, the Holy Spirit will sustain us and help us remain true to our confession to the end.
This list is not exhaustive, these are just a few of the studies we can provide. We can also supply thorough bible study on any particular subjects you may be interested in finding out more about. You could wish to speak about a specific word, some vital verses, or other parts of the Bible with us. Regardless, we wish to meet you and share the good news and follow the example of Jesus in his love, life and service for others.
