Sermon Reflection
There is nothing like Gods love. We are reminded of God’s love for us, by sacrificing his own son to save us from our sins. God knows that we are sinners, yet he still loves us enough to want to save us. Sacrificing honour and truth for an easy way out leads to death. However, if we live according to the spirit, we are heirs of God. Not heirs of royalty, or monetary inheritance.
We all have different experience with family. Family is of utmost importance. What we deeply desire, is a place where we can be ourselves, be loved, be honoured, cared for and have people know our darkest secrets and feelings but not care – that is love.
The scripture describes the early church as a family. It teaches us how we should live as a church family. We should cherish each other for what we are, rather than what we do. That way, we never feel unloved when we don’t do something. It tells us how a church family should be protective and celebrate our skills, talents and families. In marriage, the church family helps us to have healthy Christian marriages.
In Gods perfect home, we all have his protection and his deep and fulfilling love. Christ died for us when we were still sinners. God’s love protects us from sins of others as well. The home you came from may not have been great, or it may, but the concept of home makes us think about Gods home for us. A perfect home where he is the father who envelops us in his love and makes everything right. The scripture tells us to cast all our anxieties on him because he cares for us.”
