THE MISSION OF RENEWAL – Acts 5:17-34
The angel of the Lord releases the disciples from prison and then tells them to tell everyone the message of the new life they have been given.
In spite of the opposition and jealousy of the religious leaders of the day the disciples waste no time in fulfilling that commission. Not only that but an emboldened Peter loudly explains that they are obeying God, not man.
I don’t always feel so bold when it comes to fulfilling the Great Commission. I can allow fear of the response to silence the spirit within me. The Acts of the apostles are such great reminders of what the Christian life is and a call to faith to tell others. Reading a passage of Scripture such as this and hearing it preached about really helps me to remember what great forgiveness I have in Jesus.
