Andy Gould will share this week’s sermon, “Luke: Friend & Companion To The End”, as we continue our Companions of Paul series. We will explore the life of Dr Luke, author of the Gospel of Luke and a close friend, companion and co-worker of Paul. Through his faithful friendship and careful account of Jesus’ life, Luke helped others come to know Christ and supported Paul in sharing the good news with the lost.
Drawing on Colossians 4:14 and Luke 1:1–4, we will consider what Luke’s example teaches us about friendship, faithful service and helping others grow in confidence in their faith. How can we stand alongside one another and remain dependable companions through the challenges and joys of following Jesus?
Simon Phillips & Shona Tootill, from our Glasgow Church worship team, will lead us in worship songs, followed by a welcome and prayer shared by Mike Jarvis. Joe Birr will then share the communion message as we come together at the foot of the cross to remember Christ’s sacrifice and take communion. Andy Gould will follow with the sermon.
The service starts at 10:30 am, and all are welcome to join us either in person or online.
Our theme for 2026, “Walking Each Other Home”, invites us to strengthen, support and encourage one another through life’s highs and lows. As we walk with God, through our Saviour Jesus and guided by the Holy Spirit, we keep our eyes on the hope of eternal life with our Father in Heaven. Luke’s friendship with Paul offers a meaningful opportunity to reflect on how we can help each other along that journey.
Join the Glasgow Church of Christ on Sunday 18th October 2026 at 10:30 am for a morning of worship, prayer, communion and encouragement from God’s Word. Whether you join us in person or online, everyone is warmly welcome.

Scriptures To Be Shared In This Message:
Colossians 4:14
14 Our dear friend Luke, the doctor, and Demas send greetings.
Luke 1:1-4
1 Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us, 2 just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word. 3 With this in mind, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, I too decided to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, 4 so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught.
