Message Summary & Reflection
Today we are taking our inspiration from Luke 2:8-20.
We will look at the following three points: 1. Hear well. 2. Make peace and 3. Fear not and Behold.
Luke 2:15-16,20
The shepherds had faith. What happened certainly got their attention. They took seriously what they heard and acted upon it. It changed their lives. People around them accepted their message too. How well do you accept God’s word from others? Do you hear well? Or only if it’s delivered according to your own expectations? Someone else who heard well was Mary (v.19). She pondered, which means she considered in context what she had heard. Are you treasuring up the word? If you don’t hear well it will not change your heart. The shepherds responded immediately. Will you?
Luke 2:14
There is no peace without Jesus dying on the cross. God wants us to have peace with Him and peace of Him. Rom 5:1 -the only way to peace with God is through Jesus Christ. Understanding who we are and why he needed to go to the Cross for us. Phil 4:4-7 – the peace of God comes when we surrender to Him. Being at peace with God and having his peace enables us to be peacemakers.
Luke 2:9-14
We know we have fallen short of the glory of God. But we need not be afraid. We have got the same promise as the shepherds. Do not be afraid of who you are called to be. This is the message we are called to share. It is the good news. Behold the message of the Cross, this is our calling.
